The player — what happens on the ride screen
Four sensor roles, ERG mode and one dial that rescues a session when your legs say no.
The power on screen is only as good as what you paired. And in ERG mode the trainer decides the effort, not you — comfortable, as long as the target is realistic.
Four roles, not necessarily four devices
One device can fill several roles at once — a trainer reports both power and cadence.
- Trainer — the only role that works both ways: it receives a target and sets the resistance. It alone unlocks ERG.
- Power — a crank or pedal meter is more accurate than a trainer's estimate.
- Heart rate — doesn't drive the workout, but shows what it cost.
- Cadence — matters only on intervals where cadence is part of the task.
- Open the pairing screen — scanning starts on its own ("Scanning for sensors…").
- Tap "Connect" on a device it finds.
- Tap "Done". Next time the app connects by itself.
A sensor you didn't bring shows as "Remembered · out of range"; one you no longer want goes with "Forget".
What to read on the ride screen
The bar above the line previews the next block; below it, the grid of swappable tiles.
The "what's next" bar: an arrow, the duration and target of the next block; "FINISH" on the last one. Everything else is a swappable tile — tapping one opens "Choose metric". Don't confuse the two time tiles:
- "TO GO" — left of the whole workout.
- "INTERVAL LEFT" — left of the current block.
"INTERVAL POWER" tells you whether you're riding evenly; "VS TARGET" turns green when you're on target. At the bottom: "Pause", "Skip block" (the recording stays) and "Finish" (save or discard).
ERG, free ride, and the dial between them
In ERG the trainer holds the given power; you hold cadence. Free ride is the same screen without control — you set the resistance yourself. You can switch mid-ride without losing the recording.
"ERG BIAS" shifts every target in the workout by 5% down or up per tap without touching its structure. Better than quitting: intervals stay intervals, just at today's power.
Every ERG target is worked out from this number.
Reaching for the bias three sessions in a row? That's an out-of-date FTP, not a bad day.
The screen no longer surprises you. What's left is what to put in those blocks — zones and workouts of your own.
